Fun with Scholastic News!

Hello Families!

I hope you're having a great Monday. Last week we read two Scholastic News articles about the fall. The students really enjoyed this activity and its interactive components. I first project each article on the whiteboard and then as we read I have the students each come up to the board to point out specific objects, numbers, count, compare sizes and utilize new vocabulary introduced. The students then break off to complete their individual articles where they first determine "what" the article is out of a field of three choices. Next, they summarize the page by pasting on a picture to represent each new "fact". Some friends also use objects to represent details within the article.

Have a great day!
Megan
